Tipi Tents
The Tipi is a traditional tent first used by First Nation tribes across the plains of North America. Its design is a refined evolution of ancient hunter’s skin tents once used in many parts of the world, including regions of northern Europe such as Lapland, where similar structures are still in use today. The Tipi’s shape and structure have stood the test of time, offering both simplicity and exceptional weather resistance.
At Tasman Canvas, we’ve taken inspiration from these traditional designs to create a modern range of Tipi tents that balance authenticity with practicality. Our Tipi models are supported by a single central pole, making them quick and easy to assemble while maintaining strength and stability in a range of outdoor conditions.
Perfect for camping, glamping, events, or unique accommodation projects, Tasman Canvas Tipis are crafted with durable, weather-resistant canvas and made to last. Each one provides a spacious, comfortable shelter that connects you to nature while celebrating the craftsmanship and heritage of one of the world’s oldest and most iconic tent designs.
Our versions are a modern variant and comes in 3 sizes.
The Scout, the most transportable and easiest to erect suitable for up to 4 people.
The Brave, a mid-sized tent suitable for up to 8 people
